Cleat serve as essential fastening components designed to securely hold metal flashings and coping caps in place. These small but critical pieces provide stability and prevent movement caused by wind uplift, thermal expansion, and contraction. By anchoring flashings firmly to walls or roof edges, cleats maintain the integrity and longevity of roofing systems.
Typically fabricated from the same material as the flashing they support, cleats ensure consistent performance and corrosion resistance. Their design allows for easy attachment using mechanical fasteners while accommodating slight movement to reduce stress on metal panels and joints.
We produce cleats from .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, and 16 oz. copper. Each cleat is coated with premium Kynar 500® finishes that provide excellent protection against corrosion, UV damage, and fading. This ensures that cleats maintain their strength and appearance throughout the life of the roofing system.
Cleats are custom-formed to fit specific flashing profiles and wall conditions. Variations such as standard cleats, cleats with top legs, and longer leg cleats are available to suit different installation needs and to accommodate various flashing designs.
