Rake Edge Flashing protects and finishes the sloped edge of a gable roof. Installed along the rake, it prevents wind-driven rain from entering under panels or beneath the roof deck. At the same time, it creates a sharp, defined edge that enhances the visual line of the roof system. Because gable edges are highly exposed, rake flashing is essential for maintaining long-term performance.
Unlike drip edge at the eave, rake flashing runs upward along the slope. It covers the raw edges of panels and directs water away from the fascia, preventing stains, warping, and rot. Moreover, it shields the underlayment and fasteners from UV exposure and weather damage.
We fabricate rake flashings from .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, and 16 oz. copper. These materials withstand high winds, temperature swings, and precipitation. Additionally, we finish each flashing with Kynar 500® coatings to ensure fade resistance, corrosion protection, and color consistency across trim and panels.
Each profile is custom-formed to match the roof pitch and panel profile. You can also request hemmed edges, seal kicks, or extended flanges for added coverage or structural support.
