Drip Edge is a critical flashing profile installed along the eaves and rakes of a roof to guide water away from the structure. It forms a clean, durable termination for roof panels while ensuring that runoff doesn’t back up under the roofing system or saturate the fascia. Because water naturally follows the edge of a surface, drip edge prevents it from clinging to the underside of the roof, protecting decking, trim, and structural components from rot and deterioration.
The sharp bend or hemmed edge at the bottom of the profile forces water to fall cleanly into gutters or away from the building. This small feature plays a big role in overall roof performance. In addition, drip edge provides a crisp visual finish at the roof perimeter, improving both protection and aesthetics.
We fabricate drip edges from .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, and 16 oz. copper. Each profile can be finished in premium Kynar 500® coatings, which offer long-lasting resistance to fading, UV exposure, and corrosion. This ensures the drip edge matches surrounding flashings and panels while performing reliably over time.
Profiles are custom-formed to suit panel depth, fascia width, and roof slope. Optional seal kicks, back flanges, or hems can be added to suit gutter configurations and waterproofing needs.
