Masonry drip edge with back combines the standard drip profile with an extended vertical leg for added protection and secure integration with through-wall flashing systems. The back leg helps direct water into the drip edge while shielding underlying components from moisture. Its main function is to divert water away from masonry walls and ensure a continuous, watertight barrier at the base or top of wall assemblies.
Features:
Built-in back leg enhances moisture control and integrates with flashing systems
Projects water away from the wall to prevent staining and deterioration
Commonly used at parapets, wall bases, and through-wall transitions
Improves structural protection and promotes proper drainage
Commonly Paired Flashings:
Through-Wall Flashing – Installed behind the back leg for continuous water drainage
Reglet Flashing – May be used to cap the top edge in masonry applications
Coping Cap – Often used above this flashing in parapet systems
Weep Vents – Positioned below to allow water egress from wall cavities
