Through-wall flashing is designed to prevent water from penetrating building envelopes by channeling moisture that enters the wall cavity to the exterior. Installed within masonry or cavity wall systems, it spans the entire wall thickness and extends outward, typically terminating with a drip edge. Its main function is to protect structural components from water damage and ensure effective drainage.
Features:
Directs moisture from within the wall assembly to the exterior
Installed within cavity or masonry walls for concealed protection
Integral drip edge helps shed water away from the façade
Essential for long-term durability of wall systems
Commonly Paired Flashings:
Reglet Flashing – Used to terminate and cover the top edge of through-wall flashing
Counter Flashing – Enhances water protection at wall transitions
Weep Vents – Often installed with through-wall flashing to allow moisture escape
End Dams and Corner Boots – Used with through-wall systems to contain water and prevent leakage at joints
