Z Flashing

Z Flashing is a versatile trim designed to prevent water infiltration between horizontal siding or panel layers. Shaped like the letter “Z,” it is installed behind the upper panel and over the lower one to create a weatherproof break that sheds water efficiently. Its main function is to protect the wall assembly from moisture damage and ensure proper drainage in layered installations.

Features:

  • Directs water away from panel joints and wall cavities

  • Ideal for use between siding panels, wall panels, or above openings

  • Prevents capillary water movement and staining on vertical surfaces

  • Low-profile design for a clean, seamless appearance

  • Color finishes meet roofing code requirements and follow Kynar 500® specifications for superior fade resistance and weather protection

Commonly Paired Flashings:

  • Wall Panels – Installed between panels in horizontal applications

  • Window Head Flashing – Z flashing can be used above windows or doors

  • Drip Edge – Complements upper water-shedding systems

  • J-Channel – Often used around terminations in combination with Z flashing
