Valley-standard

Valley-standard is a fundamental component for managing water flow at roof intersections. Installed where two roof planes meet, they serve as channels that direct runoff toward the drainage system. Because valleys receive concentrated water from multiple slopes, they play a critical role in protecting the roof from leaks, overflow, and structural damage.

This profile features a simple V-shape or open channel design, making it ideal for both metal roofing systems and asphalt shingles. It provides a clear, unobstructed path for water to flow efficiently, even during heavy rain. In addition, it minimizes the risk of ponding, ice damming, and water intrusion along seams or joints.

We fabricate Standard Valleys using .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, and 16 oz. copper. Each valley flashing is available in Kynar 500® finishes, ensuring strong resistance to UV exposure, rust, and color fading. These finishes also allow for seamless integration with your panel system and trim.

Moreover, we custom-form valleys to match roof pitch and panel layout. Optional features like hemmed edges, stiffening ribs, or notching can be added based on the roof’s geometry and water volume.

Key Features:

  • Channels water at roof intersections safely to gutters or drains

  • Open design ensures fast, unrestricted water flow

  • Compatible with metal or shingle roofing systems

  • Fabricated from aluminum, steel, or copper

  • Available in Kynar 500® finishes for long-term durability

  • Custom sizing and hemming available for site-specific detailing

  • Can be installed as exposed or under-panel flashing

Commonly Used With:

  • Drip Edge and Underlayment – For edge protection and waterproofing

  • Snap Lock and Mechanical Lock Panels – At slope transitions

  • Closure Strips – To seal panel terminations along the valley

  • Gutters or Roof Drains – To collect and redirect runoff

In short, Standard Valleys offer reliable drainage, simple installation, and critical protection for one of the roof’s most vulnerable areas.
