Drip Edge with Back Flange
Drip Edge with Back Flange offers enhanced protection along the roof edge by combining the standard drip profile with an extended vertical flange. This back flange tucks under the underlayment or ice and water shield, creating an added layer of defense against moisture intrusion. Because the edge of a roof is one of its most vulnerable areas, this flashing is essential for long-lasting, water-tight performance.
The angled leg at the bottom of the drip edge directs runoff cleanly away from fascia, while the vertical back flange shields the roof deck from wind-driven rain and capillary action. In addition, it helps stabilize the edge of the roof, providing better support for the panels and finish materials.
We fabricate this profile in .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, and 16 oz. copper. Each option is available in premium Kynar 500® finishes to ensure long-term durability, UV resistance, and color consistency. These finishes allow for seamless matching with panels, fascia, and other roof trim components.
Profiles are tailored to your specific slope, overhang, and panel profile. You may also request seal kicks, hemmed edges, or crimped bends to fit unique roof edge conditions.
