Counter Flashing

Counter flashing is a key component in roof-to-wall and roof-to-chimney intersections, providing a secondary line of defense against water infiltration. It is installed over step or base flashings and either inserted into a reglet or embedded in masonry joints for a secure, watertight seal. Its main function is to shield the upper edge of primary flashings from weather exposure, ensuring long-term protection of vertical transitions.
