Apron flashing is a critical component used to seal the intersection where vertical surfaces meet a sloped roof, such as at walls, chimneys, dormers, or skylights. Its main function is to channel water away from these vulnerable transition points, preventing leaks and moisture infiltration that can damage underlying materials.
Features:
Provides a watertight seal between roof and vertical structures
Directs water away from critical joints and seams
Helps prevent leaks, rot, and interior water damage
Custom-fabricated to fit a variety of applications and roof profiles
Color finishes meet roofing code requirements and follow Kynar 500® specifications for superior fade resistance and weather protection
Commonly Paired Flashings:
Step Flashing – Used in combination with apron flashing for sidewall protection
Drip Edge – Protects roof edges and complements apron flashing at eaves
Counter Flashing – Often installed over apron flashing to add an additional barrier against water intrusion
Z-bar – Allows the installation of other flashings such as Ridge caps or Apron flashings over metal roofs
