Leader Head (small)—also known as conductor heads—play a vital role in metal roofing drainage systems. They collect water from gutters and channel it into downspouts efficiently. In addition to this, they reduce pressure in the system by creating a vented space that prevents vacuum lock.
Because they sit between the gutter and downspout, leader heads help manage large volumes of runoff. This is especially useful on steep-slope roofs or during heavy rain events. Furthermore, they allow overflow water to exit visibly, making them ideal for both function and inspection.
Typically, we fabricate these from .032, .040, or .050 aluminum, 24ga or 26ga steel, or 16 oz. copper. All options offer excellent strength and durability. You can also choose Kynar 500® finishes to match your gutter system and ensure long-term color retention.
Leader Heads come in a wide range of styles. For example, you may choose traditional flared faces or modern angular shapes. Either way, these products enhance the look of the drainage system while performing a critical function.
